Effective Monday, March 23rd we will be temporarily moving to a “100% Delivery Model” to serve you.

We reviewed our operations and have come to the decision to further restrict access at our branches to ensure the health & safety of our staff and customers.

Customers will not be allowed into our yards or stores. All orders must be placed over the phone or email for delivery only.

At Standard Building Supplies, the health and safety of our staff and customers has always been, and remains, our top priority. It has guided our decision-making throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to do so.

This is a rapidly changing situation, therefore we are carefully monitoring and adjusting our response as we get more information.

To Our Valued Customers
The following adjustments are in effect immediately.

  • Our North Vancouver Store & Yard will be temporarily closed on Saturdays to all customers. Our Burnaby location will be open to serve you.
  • Cash Sales (cash, credit, debit) will no longer be accepted. Our On-Account customers will still be served.

While pick up orders are still available. We encourage all our account customers to call/email orders in advance for delivery. Deliveries will be the easiest way to get goods. To reduce wait times for placing orders, we have several channels available to you.

Our health and safety team, management and owners have been closely monitoring health and government authorities’ actions and recommendations to ensure that we’re taking every necessary preventative measure.

This is a rapidly changing situation, therefore we are carefully monitoring and adjusting our response as we get more information.

To Our Valued Customers
After reviewing the current conditions and latest news surrounding COVID-19 and to ensure our high safety and health standards, we have decided to implement changes to our business hours and operations.

Effective immediately our store hours will be:
Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm
Saturday 8am – 4pm

Operationally, both our Burnaby and North Vancouver stores will be closed to walk-in customers. We encourage all our account customers to call/email orders in advance for delivery or scheduled pick-up. We will do our best to keep wait times to a minimum for pick-up orders. Deliveries will be the easiest way to get goods. To reduce wait times for placing orders, we have several channels available to you.

For cash sale customers, we will accept all major credit cards and debits. Cash will not be accepted at this time.

This will not be perfect but given the circumstances and our focus on the well-being of staff and customers, it is the right thing to do. We ask that you exercise patience and understanding as we do our best to serve you. Managers and staff will be outside both stores and available to answer questions and direct traffic.

This is a rapidly changing situation, therefore we are carefully monitoring and adjusting our response as we get more information.

To our Staff

Your well-being is very important. We will continue to share information with you to keep you and your families safe. We’re encouraging anyone who feels sick to stay home in order to help prevent the spread of the virus. Also, we have asked those who are not sick but can work from home to do so.

Programs are in place for staff to access counselors to help cope during this difficult time. We also have programs in place to assist staff financially should they contract the virus. We care deeply about our staff and work diligently to make this situation as safe and as stress free as possible.

To our Customers

We are still committed to providing the best customer experience, given the changing environment. All our employees working remotely are still available by phone and email and deliveries are running as usual.

For those customers in self-isolation or doing their part to try and slow the spread, we have several services available to assist you while limiting your exposure to other people. Our expedited orders team is available to take orders for delivery or pick-up via email or phone. We have direct phone lines to our Shipping and Will Call desks to check statuses of your orders or reschedule.

We ask anyone that is feeling flu like symptoms or have recently returned from travel to follow the governments requirement and self-isolate.

At our Branches

We have taken additional measures at our branches to ensure everyone who works at or visits our stores feels safe. We have scheduled hourly cleaning and sanitizing of workstations & high traffic areas. We have restricted all vendor sales representatives and any other non-essential visitors from our stores.

For staff that are working at our branches, gloves and hand sanitizer have been provided to them. All staff are following recommended social distancing and respiratory hygiene protocols, as well as washing their hands regularly.
